I'm Thankful For (Day 3)

I had lots of plans to post earlier tonight, but that was before i spent every spare moment today arguing with my computer. I didn't even get to check my email!

SO - I will keep it short and sweet - I don't want to go back on what I said I would do.
Today I am thankful for . . . my good job, and understanding boss. 1 year ago, I was unemployed working part time as a cashier to help make the unemployment cover the bills while searching for a job. I was getting pretty down, and then, low and behold, had 2 job offers within 24 hours - for 2 companies, competitors. It wasn't too hard of a decision really, and I really do enjoy my job (most days, but who doesn't have that problem?) I talked to my boss this morning and asked about taking a day off to do some running - take my MIL to some Dr appointments. He said he 'would be mad if I didn't'. Thank Goodness for understanding bosses! (oh, and ThankYou to my personal 'GeekSquad' for giving me numerous suggestions on how to fix the computer)

Tonight while I argued with my computer (just short of drop kicking it) ruraldad and ruralkid did math (big suprise) but he was excited when he was done! (ruralkid moreso than ruraldad) That is a big thing in our world - math is such a challenge for him. He can remember war dates/places/army ranks and more, but if it has to do with manipulating numbers he has problems.

Well, that is about it for now - Enjoy a happy Friday - I will share a link tomorrow - which one to choose? Want someone to see your blog? I will post it on here if you share it with me - Lovin Tips & Crafts & Recipes etc - shoot me an email! ruralNDmom@gmail.com

Thanks!

I'm Thankful For (Day 2)

Since it is Veterans day, i'm going to have 2 Thankfuls. Is that a word? (thankfuls?) I think it is. REGARDLESS, I am thankful for Veterans - I am thankful that they gave their time and in some cases lives to make and to keep our Freedom! I can't imagine life without you, and although we don't say it often enough, we appreciate you EVERY DAY.
Also, today, I'm thankful for my friends - i mean honestly, who else do you call when you are ready to pull your hair out from a stressful day at work? When your kid has done something else that is determined to drive you CRAZY before your time, who do you call? Or hopefully more often than the first one, when they have done something AMAZING - like making it on the honor roll? Your girlfriends!! They are the ones who get you through it all - so that is what I am thankful for today.

Last night after i posted, I cross stitched for awhile, (finished it!) I will try to post a picture for you to see. I attempted to kit a few other ornaments, so I can keep moving on them. Too many to make, too little time! I did realize that somehow, somewhere, i must have put my JUST CROSS STITCH ornaments issue in a 'safe' place. Am I the only one who does that and then can't remember where the safe place is?
Tonight when I got home from work, we had supper. It was 'ruralkid' cook night, and he made spaghetti squash for supper. He did a great job! After supper, we got the dishes cleaned up and now ruralkid and 'ruraldad' are doing math. Who knew 8th grade math could be so much work!

I have great aspirations to do lots of crafty - inspired type things, and one day while playing around on the 'net, I found this awesome blog - so I am going to attempt to post the link in this post. She does some incredible wordart, meant for scrapbooking. I haven't done alot of that, but I want to. . . someday. . .

she has a new freebie wordart every day, and she tells us about her crazy life with 5 kids (and army husband). Today's wordart was especially fitting.

Day 1

On an email I got from a friend this week, I was challenged to start a countdown - of things that I am Thankful For. I will try to post every day, however if I know I will be unable to post one day, I will make an attempt to 'pre-publish' for you!

Today - I am thankful for

My wonderful family - it has become apparent to me rather quickly how fast I could be without them. My Great Grandmother (I hardly knew her, mostly knew of her) recently passed away, and my boss lost both his Grandfather & Grandmother within 2 weeks time. So - Today, I am thankful for my Grandmother, Wonderful Parents (and Mother In Law) Sister, Brothers (and the in-laws on my husband's side) Husband & Son - I love them all dearly - I hope they all know that

.....and if they didn't before, the world does now!

I have a great love-affair for the internet and the multitude of information available on it. My goal with my blog is to share some of this information with you, or at least organize it for myself. I look forward to reading your comments and what you might want to see. I love new information!

Now OFF to watching DANCING WITH THE STARS!
